Angela Schlansker Promoted to Vice President of Human Resources at Mid-America Transplant

Angela Schlansker has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources and DMV operations for Mid-America Transplant. Schlansker, who has been with the organization since 2005, oversees strategic efforts for workforce recruitment, selection and retention.

Throughout her tenure Schlansker’s innovative retention programs as well as her attention to workforce development have led to Mid-America Transplant being recognized as an “Employer of the Year” by AAIM and a “Top Workplace” by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. With a strong focus on employee engagement, Mid-America Transplant was named a “Best-in-Class” employer by Avatar Solutions last year.

In addition to her role supporting the recruitment and retention of 160+ employees directly involved in organ and tissue donation, Schlansker oversees several dozen employees at three state license offices in the St. Louis region that are operated by Mid-America Transplant. The offices are part of a unique effort by the organization to enhance organ and tissue donation awareness and to encourage license office visitors to sign up on the state organ donor registry.

Schlansker’s goals are to continue creating an engaged workforce that is in line with Mid-America Transplant’s mission of excellence in organ and tissue donation. She excels at the creation of automated processes for HR information and in leveraging the skillsets of all employees through training and development efforts.

A certified human resources professional by both the Human Resource Certification Institute and the Society for Human Resources Management, Schlansker holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Truman University. She earned her master’s degree in human resources management and development from Webster University in 2007. She has been a State Examiner for the Missouri Quality Award and was previously selected to participate in the CORO Women in Leadership Class for Focus St. Louis, a regional leadership program.

Mid-America Transplant is the designated organ procurement organization (OPO) for much of Missouri, southern Illinois and northeastern Arkansas. Last year, the organization facilitated a record 618 lifesaving transplants. In recognition of outstanding quality and performance improvement innovations, Mid-America Transplant is a two-time recipient of the Missouri Quality Award and last year received the prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for Performance Excellence.
